Visitors – Pay as you play.  Come along and join us for organised games of doubles – At “social tennis” we’ll try to arrange games for you with others of a similar standard. We’ll do our best to make you feel welcome with our “buddy system”, ensuring that an established club member is there to look after you, to give you a bit of a guided tour and introduce you to other members. It’s a great way to keep active and make new friends!

Social tennis takes place almost every Saturday afternoon of the year, starting at 3pm in summer and at 2pm from about April to October. This takes place mainly on grass courts (except from July to September). After an afternoon of tennis, you can watch the last sets (or the sunset) while relaxing by the bar, often with a few complimentary ‘nibbles’. For visitors the cost is $15 for the whole afternoon, including afternoon tea.

On the artificial grass or hard courts, and floodlit when necessary, Monday evenings are another opportunity for organised, social tennis, from 7.30pm-9.30pm, for most of the year. Contact the club to confirm details.

Tuesday is ‘Ladies Day’ almost every week at Blue Gum with organised social play, usually on grass courts, and with morning tea provided.

For social tennis, a Duty Captain organises each round of matches and provides new tennis balls, so all you need to do is bring your tennis shoes and racquet.  If you’re at all worried about the standard of your game and whether you can play to a ‘reasonable social level’, then Tennis Excellence can provide you with some great coaching to get you on your way.
